"Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and can be
overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings."
We have many volunteering opportunities at CWS. You can get involved in anything from helping run an event, becoming a Parish Link to using your specialist skill. Volunteering for CWS means you are working with others who are committed to overcoming poverty and suffering, and helping make a difference.
We are very happy to hear from:
• Students looking for a course placement or work experience.
• People who are between jobs.
• Retired people.
• Those with a special interest/skill.
• Anybody who can commit to a few hours a week.
Prospective volunteers will be interviewed. New volunteers will have professional and management support. Most volunteering positions are in the national office in Christchurch but we are happy to find opportunities for people all around New Zealand.
If you belong to a CWS Parish, consider volunteering as a Parish Link. As a Parish Link, you're at the frontline of CWS work in your parish. You'll distribute Christmas Appeal envelopes, collect donations, hand out resources, advertise events, etc. It's not difficult. You'll be a vital and valued part of our team and fully supported by our Church and Community Coordinator.
If you are interested in volunteering for CWS, email cws@cws.org.nz with the following information:
• Your CV.
• A cover letter outlining why you’d like to volunteer for CWS, any particular areas of work that you are interested in and your period of availability.
If you are interested in becoming a Parish Link, email cws@cws.org.nz with your contact details and our Church and Community Coordinator will be in touch.
