@world: The Christian World Service magazine, reports back on the work of our partners, campaign news, what New Zealand support is helping to achieve in emergency situations and how our supporters in Aotearoa New Zealand are joining in the global struggle against poverty and injustice. Videos and Study series: CWS has an extensive video library download catalogue portraying CWS partners and dealing with issues of justice. Written background material is included and many videos are suitable for use in schools. Our annual Study Series combines background information, partner stories and reflections on global issues. Recent themes include peace initiatives and assisting the victims of war, people struggling for a life free of poverty, and global economic issues. Click here for more information.

Youth and Children’s Resources:
World Watch for children aged 7-13, with stories and activities on global issues such as peace and child labour. A leaders kit with background information and lesson plan is included. Click here for more information.

Youth Topics is a twice yearly poster resource with quizzes, activities, discussion starters and worship for youth leaders working with young people aged 12-18. Youth topics encourage young people to find out more about global injustices such as unfair trade rules in the coffee industry, exploitation of the workers who make our sports shoes and the growing numbers of refugees and join in action for a fairer world. Make Poverty History: Worship resources and prayer

These materials are supplied free of charge and can be sent regularly if you wish. A small donation to assist with production and postage costs is appreciated, especially when borrowing videos.

CWS has launched a new video and DVD study: Water who own's it?, examining the work of CWS partner, MONLAR, and it's reponse to World Bank economic polices which are affecting farmers' access to water. 

 

 

 


Many people believe that after oil, water will be the next big war-provoking issue in the world,
as ever more pressure is put on scarce resources, especially in developing countries and other drought-prone areas. What is particularly of concern is that big business is endeavouring to take control of water to make profits from its distribution. Where poverty is rife this would mean a death-sentence for people who could no longer afford water.

This documentary may be purchased at NZ$50 or borrowed at NZ$15 per month. Contact CWS, stating your preference, video or DVD, if you wish to purchase it or when you would like to borrow it, with an alternate date.
