CWS is asking supporters and churches to get behind a new campaign for this year’s Fair Trade Fortnight. From 3 to 18 May the spotlight will be on the importance of fair trade to ensure a better income for small producers and a life without poverty. In New Zealand, the public will be helping to find the best fair trade supermarket as well as petitioning supermarket chains to stock and promote a wider range of fair trade goods. The aim is to build consumer demand for fair trade goods. Take the supermarket challenge and checkout fair trade

CWS will send a kit containing posters, worship resources and leaflets to churches interested in holding A Fair Cuppa after morning worship during Fair Trade Fortnight. With support from Trade Aid, CWS is able to offer a free packet of tea or coffee with those ordering direct from the Trade Aid warehouse. To order a kit click here. Download worship resources here.

Events are being held around New Zealand. Details here

Become a Fair Trade Church: CWS and Trade Aid have jointly organised this scheme for parishes and groups wanting to promote fair trade. The two requirements of participation are that groups and parishes agree to serve tea and coffee after services and meetings and take part in Fair Trade Fortnight each year. The kit is available here.

Where to purchase Fair trade products:
CWS is often asked where people can buy fair trade products. Trade Aid maintains a link on their website:
